Bitsbox.com rocks it out!
Started as a Kickstarter in 2015, Bitsbox.com is awesome. Students learn by typing real lines of code. Though I’m not a programmer and don’t claim to be, I’ve noticed that the kids flock to this when a choice is an option for programming.
For about $20 a month, you can get a book that has about 20 different apps to program. The awesome thing about it is that you can test them out on your own iPad. If you'd like, you can end up with a physical book, toy, stickers, trading cards and tattoos shipped each month, and it is just about $10 more. Getting the box in the mail is fun and exciting.
Here is a short little car driving app that I created via their tutorial during the Hour of Code.
Here is their first book. It’s hosted on their website, so I assume it’s free to print and distribute.
